Once submitted, applications will be reviewed and room assignments will be sent via email. After receiving your assignment, you will be required to complete the final steps of the application, including payment of the facilities fee to secure your space.

A license agreement is the housing contract used at The Current. It allows residents to occupy a specific bedroom within the community for the designated housing term.

More information about the license agreement and housing terms will be available when the application opens.

The standard housing agreement is a 12-month term. Graduating seniors may be eligible for a shorter 10-month option. Please contact the leasing office for more information regarding eligibility.

Yes. Current residents will have a priority window to relicense before applications open to new applicants. Current residents can apply on March 25–27, 2026.

Rooms are assigned by the leasing team based on availability and the preferences listed in your application.

If you have specific requests, such as preferred roommates or other placement preferences, you may email thecurrent@cpp.edu. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, they are not guaranteed.

All residents are required to provide financial backing for their housing agreement. The following options are available:

Guarantor
A guarantor is a co-signer who agrees to pay on your behalf if you are unable to meet your payment obligations. Guarantors must meet income and qualification requirements.

Security Deposit Option
Residents may choose to pay their final two months of rent upfront. These funds will be applied to the last two months of the agreement.

Guarantor Waiver (LEAP Program)
Residents may apply through a third-party provider, LEAP, to qualify for a guarantor waiver. If approved, LEAP will act as your financial backing in exchange for a fee.

Residents who need to cancel their housing agreement must submit a written notice at least 30 days in advance. An early termination fee equal to 85% of one month’s installment may apply.

Residents who are graduating seniors may qualify for a graduation waiver. Please contact the leasing office for additional details regarding eligibility and the cancellation process.

INSTALLMENTS & FEES

The monthly installment includes your base rent, water usage, and high-speed internet.

Electricity usage, trash services, mitigated risk, parking, and pet fees are not included in the monthly installment.

Rent is due monthly between the 7th and 10th. Payments received on or after the 11th are considered late and may be subject to late fees.

Payments can be made through The Current’s website by accessing the resident portal and logging in with your SSO credentials.

You may request preferred roommates by emailing thecurrent@cpp.edu with their information. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, they are not guaranteed and depend on availability.

If you do not have roommates, our team will match you with roommates based on the preferences you indicate in your application, as well as any additional preferences you submit.

You may submit a request to switch rooms; however, all requests must be approved and are subject to availability. If you choose to switch rooms after moving in, a $150 transfer fee will apply.
